In the Holy Month of Ramadan, it’s time to give and share, for the 8th year running, A’Famosa Resort was organising Ramadan Charity Drive with distributing “Bubur Lambuk” and hosting 100 less fortunate children from Lembaga Pengurusan & Kebajikan Anak Yatim Miskin (PAYASUM), Melaka “Berbuka puasa” and Ramadan goodies on 17 Jun 2016.
This annual charity event was part of A’Famosa Resort’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSR) in giving back to the community and to the less fortunate.
A’Famosa Resort Theme Park General Manager, Mr Robert Na and Freeport A’Famosa Outlet Commercial Director, Mr.Chris Miliken was taken the street along Jalan Kemus, together with the staff to mark the Ramadan program which is organised by A’Famosa Resort. The distribution started at 4.00pm and 3000 packets of “Bubur Lambuk” was distributed to the public in respective of race and religion at entrance Freeport A’Famosa Outlet, spreading cheer among our neighbours and guests.
Mr. Robert and Mr Chris Miliken was welcome the 100 girls at main entrance of Freeport A’Famosa Outlet. They also will have many activities and Ramadan Goodies was distributed by Mr.Chris Miliken and we also group photo section. The evening was continued with breaking of fast at Golfer’s Terrace with our famous Iftar Buffet Dinner, a sumptuous spread of traditional and local delicacies, all deliciously prepare by Executive Chef Maniam and his team.
During the dinner, the students from Smart Reader, Melaka will showcase their talent by performing Nasyid and other performance. The evening was ended with handing out “duit raya” to all the children. The “duit raya” came from generous contributions and donations from A’Famosa Resort Management & Staff.
Over the years, A’Famosa Resort has built an effective CSR platform through which it directly supports and gives back to the local communities in which it operates. The work of both the A’Famosa Resort and Freeport A’Famosa Outlet correspond with our goal to promote social solidarity and by engaging our employees in charitable acts, we are able to foster a culture of belonging amongst them, reflecting the spirit of giving and sharing during the month of Ramadan.
