 Missing the “Magical 8” is one’s biggest regret!

Popular local water sports destination, A’Famosa Resort in Alor Gajah was the battleground for the participants of the “Akua Ekstrem” – a brand new reality TV show RTM TV2, which will splash on your TV screen on February 27.

The first of its kind in Malaysia, this 26-episode reality water game show is on air every Sunday at 6 to 7pm and brings a high octane, dramatic and comedic obstacles challenging the participants competing for a total prizes worth RM30,000.00.

“Akua Ekstrem” was produced by Triomedia Sdn. Bhd., in partnership with Radio Television Malaysia. For a start, an investment of RM5 millions was made to upgrade the facilities at the exciting A’Famosa Water World theme park. The program was staged at the newly built and launched water sport venue.

With the concept of 1Malaysia, “Akua Ekstrem” is hosted by reknown local celebrities led by host Nazaruddin Habibur Rahman who also produced the show. Nazaruddin was ably assisted by TV stars Chin Yin Yee and Sangeeta Krishnasamy.

Nazaruddin is no stranger to the showbiz having won the “Favorite TV Host” award at the SHOUT! Awards 2009. He was also the host of highly rated shows the likes of “The breakfast Show”, “Budget ’07 on 07”, “Selebriti Karaoke” and “Anugerah Industri Muzik” on NTV7 as well as hosting the “My Starz LG”, “My Australian Adventure” on TV3. The talented Nazaruddin was also the lead actor of the “Ghost” series on 8TV which won the “Best TV Series” at the SHOUT! Awards 2009.

A total of 250 participants of various ethnicities from all over the country participated in the water extreme frenzy. Each three-member team consists of males and females from the age of 16 to 45. In a test of endurance, participants had to crawl, jump, swing and belly-flop while trying to clear the 8-obstacle test to win attractive prizes such as holiday packages, luxury watches, mobile phones and hampers.

“Akua Ekstrem” is an ideal show for all ages and races as it promotes physical and mental challenges among the individuals as well as teamwork spirits of the group. Just like in life, going through the obstacles would need determination and the “just do it” attitude. Of course, great skills and spirits would be a great advantage here.
